چکیده

In February 2007, the U.S. Department of Energy, BP Exploration (Alaska), and the U.S. Geological Survey, collected the first open-hole formation pressure response data in a gas hydrate reservoir (the “Mount Elbert” stratigraphic test well) using Schlumberger’s Modular Dynamics Formation Tester (MDT) wireline tool. As part of an ongoing effort to compare the world’s leading gas hydrate reservoir simulators, an international group conducted history matches of one 12-hour test that included an initial stage of pressure drawdown and response in which pressures were maintained above the level where gas hydrate dissociation would occur; a second stage with 15 min of flow and 97 min buildup that included gas hydrate dissociation and gas production; and Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Gas Hydrates (ICGH 2008), Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA, July 6-10, 2008.

Preliminary Assessment of Hydrocarbon Gas Sources from the Mt . Elbert No . 1 Gas Hydrate Test Well , Milne Pt . Alaska

Hydrocarbon gases were collected from well cuttings and core at the MtElbert-01 gas hydrate stratigraphic test well, drilled within the Milne Point field on the Alaska North Slope. Regionally, the Eileen gas hydrate deposits overlie the more deeply buried Prudhoe Bay, Milne Point, and Kuparuk River oil fields and are restricted to the up-dip portion of a series of nearshore deltaic sandstone re...

Geologic and Engineering Controls on the Production of Permafrost–associated Gas Hydrate Accumulations

In 1995, the U.S. Geological Survey made the first systematic assessment of the in-place natural gas hydrate resources of the United States. That study suggested that the amount of gas in the gas hydrate accumulations of northern Alaska probably exceeds the volume of known conventional gas resources on the North Slope. Researchers have long speculated that gas hydrates could eventually be a com...

High - Pressure X - Ray Diffraction Characterization of Mt Elbert Cores

In this letter report, core sediments from the Mt Elbert Stratigraphic Test Well #1 (Mt Elbert) located at Milne Point, Alaska were characterized in situ by high-pressure x-ray diffraction (HXRD). These samples represent part of the 500 ft (152.4 m) of continuous core collected from the D and C sands in the Mikkelson Tongue of the Canning Formation (BOSWELL et al., 2008). Research teams began c...

Vehicle Interior Vibration Simulation-a Tool for Engine Mount Optimization

By new advancements in vehicle manufacturing vehicle quality evaluation and assurance has become a more critical issue. In present work, the vibration transfer path analysis and vibration path ranking of a car interior has been performed. The method is similar to classical multilevel TPA methods but has distinct differences. The method is named VIVS which stands for Vehicle Interior Vibratio...
